Because of Prevailing Issues in the Islamic Community At-Large, the Editorial Staff (ES) of Shahadah sees the need for these issues to be addressed through the U.S. National Amirate of Amir Abdallah Yasin, Amir of The International Amirate of Masjid Baytul-Khaliq, Inc. In each issue of Shahadah the ES intends to present a particular Prevailing Issue. Inshaa’Allah.
DISBANDMENT OF U.S. MURABITUN
Official Date of Disbandment is August 26th, 2001, Retro-Active to August 5th, 2001
Since I Officially Disassociated from the World Murabitun Movement and issued the Executive Order to Disbanded the United States contingent of said movement, people who are associated with me, and many of the Amirate but having remained outside of this former body, and many who were not associated with me but know me, are desirous of knowing why! For all those who were a part of this disbanded group, my letter stating said Executive Order, simultaneously dated August 5th & August 26th, 2001 should have fully satisfied their inquiries and certainly, for those who are not satisfied, this issue of Shahadah should give them the rude awakening they deserve. However, as these pages represent a Chronicle of Factual Islamic Events upon this land, and this Amirate in particular, it is historically necessary to thoroughly document this matter herein. Further, it is a reclaiming of the Pure Deen by our Amirate and a clear refutation of those rebels who would try to smear us.
NOTE: At the conclusion of this article I have appended the last communications between myself and the Murabitun Ra`iys, `Umar Vadillo, and my last communications to said "disbanded" group. There will be some who will condemn me for speaking out publicly. However, this IS a public matter because many people followed me into the Murabitun even after a number of people had initially advised me/us against joining. AND, because my life is an open book. I have nothing to hide and no hidden agendas and I carry no malice. I simply am who I am. If some people do not want their "dirty laundry" aired in public, intelligently, they ought to stop "wearing" it because it will be seen in the light of day! I am performing a duty. Most of those who today persist as being identified as so-called Murabitun will one day come to realize that they have been walking around in public wearing dunce hats! Additionally, injustice has been done to all members of this International Amirate by way of unjust treatment to its Amir, and thereby to them, by the Murabitun International Leadership. Through their behavior I have come to understand the sinister makeup of this movement and can thus clearly state that this movement is inimical to Islam. Allah (SWTA) says: "Allah likes not that evil should be noised abroad in public speech, except where injustice has been done; for Allah is He who hears and knows all things." Q4:148 I invite you to read note #654 of the Yusuf `Ali Qur'aanic Translation and Commentary on this ayat. This is a warning for those who will take heed. Initially, I too was one who didn't. ALSO: I am fully aware that my letters sent to Murabitun Ra`iys, `Umar Vadillo have already been "shared" with his people in the United States and Malaysia! So now, it is simply my turn to open-up on what has already been made public!
First, let me make it absolutely clear: I DID NOT ABDICATE MY POSITION AS NATIONAL AMIR OF THE U.S. MURABITUN. This is an outright bold-faced lie being told against me along with many others. (Some disgruntled ex-U.S. Murabitun are promoting the outrageously slanderous lie that I married my daughter to a kafir, right off the street. `A-oothu bil-laah! I remind these shameless folk that Allah is The All-Seeing, The All-Hearing, The All-Knowing. Nothing escapes Him! And what they lie about will be "lying in wait for them".) This is exactly what I meant when I said that certain so-called sufis have vast knowledge of Tariqah Practices but little knowledge of Tasawwuf. Tasawwuf , when properly understood, does not encompass the tongue and the limbs, but becomes an "Attitude of Taqwah", a discipline which embraces and molds the heart. "Actions are but by intention."
I disassociated from the Murabitun World Movement and disbanded the U.S. Murabitun because I recognized its international leadership and it processes as being inimical to true Islamic concepts and to us Americans. In learning of its leadership's intransigent attitude I realized that as Free Men we could not, nor would not, be allowed to operate within the framework of "their movement" except as stooges. The changes I demanded in order for us to remain would have changed the face and nature of the Murabitun forever. Those changes would have put it on the right track.
As National Amir, I had sole authority to disband this body and no man has the RIGHT to contravene my Order. Therefore, the U.S. Murabitun IS Disbanded regardless of what those dwindling few still in servitude to Shaykh Abdalqadir insist upon. I urge ALL Muslims, particularly Americans, for the Love of Islam, not to give any recognition to this disbanded group. In another age, it would have been eliminated……. Hopefully, those "dwindling few" will read this issue and be brought to their senses.
During this entire "Disassociation Period", including the time leading up to it, Shaykh Abdalqadir never contacted me directly. However, it is clear that nothing happens concerning the Murabitun without his knowledge, consent and directives. Therefor, it must necessarily be correct that the primary decisions on how his ra`iys and his American slaves have dealt with me were by his choice and according to his directives. I certainly expected better from the former two, and unwise, indeed were their choices of action.
When I initially entered the Murabitun I believed that the U.S. Murabitun was a viably progressive group. It was Shaykh Abdalqadir's masterpiece work, Root Islamic Education, which won me to the group. However, I was somewhat disillusioned to learn that the U.S. contingent was, in fact, a "Dead Man Walking", with a terminal cancer active within the body! Those truly committed to my leadership worked our hearts out trying, by Allah's grace, to heal this body. Some of the "cancer" was cut away or exited and we began experiencing new growth. However, because of reasons stated below and in the succeeding letters, the "cancer patient" was terminally ill. I came to see that the Murabitun "masterpiece" which won my heart, and it is a masterpiece, was only "flash", not substance for them. For if it were substance to them, they would hold dearly to the teaching of Imam Malik.
On October 4th, 1997 in Melilla (A Spanish Territory on Moroccan soil), Shaykh Abdalqadir said to me: " I want you to be the Amir of the Murabitun in the United States. He chose me. Yes, he selected me and I tacitly accepted (pending my conversation with the previous Amir). I had to assure myself that he had, in fact, abdicated. Although abdication is not an option for an Amir, no one can make a man assume responsibility for a role he absolutely refuses. Hajj Khalil, the former Amir, after facing "unacceptable circumstances" from within the movement, absolutely refused to continue as Amir and any further association with the movement! When I was reconciled that he was no longer the Amir is when I "officially" laid claim to the position because I am fully cognizant of the dire consequences ordered upon the "second" Imam or Amir to claim authority! I was not "appointed", as Shaykh Abdalqadir's drones are alleging in order to save face and keep as many as they can remaining under Shaykh Abdalqadir's spell. I emphatically state that I was not an "appointee". An "appointee" has no need, indeed has no right, to take the bay`at from the people he is "appointed" over because their allegiance is necessarily with the one who has made an "appointment"! Shaykh Abdalqadir NEVER asked me for a bay`at, and I never gave it. (Not withstanding that the bay`at to an Amir is stronger than that to a Shaykh. Amirate precedes Tariqah and is commanded in Allah's Book and in the Prophet's (SAWS) Sunnah. Establishment of Amirate is Fard & Wajib while joining a Tariqah and accepting a shaykh (spiritual guide) is a Nawafil act!) My first Shaykh, Ibrahim Isma`il, taught me in 1973 that the Amir MUST ASK for the bay`at! In mid 1997 I simply accepted the teachings of Shaykh Abdalqadir and I was accepted into the Murabitun on that! [See Shahadah, Vol. 11; No. 2, (Apr-June 1997) "Important Announcement...": (We are Murabitun)] In 1998 `Umar Vadillo was "appointed" by Shaykh Abdalqadir as Ra`iys of the Murabitun and, to my knowledge, he never took the bay`at from anyone! Yet he now presents that I should give him an unconditional bay`at! When "Islam" & "Muslim" were foreign words with sinister connotations to this "youngster", we Americans were struggling (usually with our own people & the immigrant Arab) to establish Islam in this country by building upon Islamic foundations laid by our African-Native-American fore-fathers, and he has the audacity, in this day and age, to promote himself as "Supreme Commander" with the absolute "carte blanche" right for he and/or Shaykh Abdalqadir to "interfere" and effect policy concerning the internal affairs of this National Amirate! "Interfering" is what they have been doing, by their selective action or in-action! They chose their attitudes and the course of their actions. Here are the unexpected consequences of their actions.
On Saturday, December 6th, 1997 I took the individual bay`at from each Murabit, male and female, who attended our First National Gathering in Newark, New Jersey. This is the bay`at formula found in the Muwatta of Imam Malik. At each succeeding National Gathering I also took the same bay`at from new Murabits, most of whom came in because of our previous relationship. Others sent me their bay`at by mail. An "appointee" does not take nor accept the bay`at , any bay`at, from the people. Even an uneducated person can understand this!
Had I given either of them a bay`at, even though Murabitn Ra`iys `Umar Vadillo ludicrously and non-Islamicly refers to himself as "the Supreme Commander", it would not have been a bay`at allowing either of these foreigners, or any others, to have absolute authority over our American peoples. A foreigner cannot lead us Americans. They can guide, help along the way, and/or advise, but lead us; NO! This has ALWAYS been my well-known position. The Asian Muslim has been as racist to us "as the day is long", particularly the "claimed Asian" Arab; particularly the Mid-Easterners and specifically the Saudis. (Excepting those of the Tablighi Jama`at, I have found the Pakistani most respectful and cooperative toward us dark-skinned Americans.) Now the European Muslim comes upon the scene with his apparatus, which has enslaved us all, and we let our guard down, only to be exploited again! Is it racism? Yes! It is racism when the Arab does it and it is certainly racism when the European does it; but the European does it with such skill, with such subtlety. The U.S. Murabitun never saw it coming. Those who still identify with the Murabitun still don't see it. What is worse, the core among them become angered with those who do see it, and this is not unusual, for the slave who loves his master always opposed the African (-Americans) who opposed the master! This is historically true. What is also historically true is that, over the years, many respectful "Muslims of knowledge" have left the Murabitun and disassociated from Shaykh Abdalqadir!
Shaykh Abdalqadir has been an absentee shaykh to this U.S. predominantly African-American contingent. He downright refused to come and meet with his people in America, most of whom had never seen him in person. He rationalizes that he does not like "white" Americans! He patronizingly criticizes them for the brutal treatment they have inflicted upon the "poor American blacks". Yet, he is ready to move, lock, stock and barrel to South Africa, with her deep-rooted and on-going "white" imposed racial segregation, "white" absolute control of that nation's wealth and resources, her out-of-control violence and her rampaging AIDS epidemic! It is also highly doubtful that his "targeted" "indigenous audience will ever accept him. His support among the "coloreds" is extremely limited in spite of the Million Dollar Murabitun Fiqh Conference Extravaganza held there a year ago to prepare for his entry into that country. My American and African sources informed me that it did not work as planned and the "blacks" in South Africa are not looking for a "white" Messiah. (Even Elijah Muhammad had to use a "white" god because of the mind conditioning of the African-American!) And the "blacks" in America had better wake the hell and up start accepting their own leadership by realizing that no one is going to love and care for them like one of their own. And, particularly in this day and age, no international leader is going to prefer another national group in preference to his own! And realistically, while he would not be expected to, he would be expected to be fair and just to all, as must be a man with more than one wife! Shaykh Abdalqadir and Ra`iys `Umar Vadillo have not been fair nor just toward us Americans. If any (temporary) change comes with regard to those who may un-Islamicly try to continue holding up the Murabitun banner here in America after I have disbanded their unit, it will be as a direct result of my actions here. And that concern would be For Show Only. To Keep Their U.S. Slaves Pacified until they drift back into a sleep pattern.
On July 15th, 1998, after attending a Moussem in Seville, Spain, I sent a letter to Shaykh Abdalqadir addressing certain attitudes of disrespect he publicly displayed towards me. As was my right, I let him know that on several occasions he had verbally offended me. (Everyone must understand that no one, has the right to denigrate another to show how wise he is, by overt or subtle statements, innuendo or otherwise. Our Prophet (SAWS) didn't do it and I am not going to quietly let anyone else do it! Not to me, nor to my people! I did not travel thousands of miles from home to be insulted by another leader, particularly in front of my own people who had accompanied me. I made it clear that I expected no apology, nor did I expect anything of the sort to ever happen again! This man did not know me, as I did not know him. I came, as a leader showing respect and I expected respect in turn. Complete respect. Plus, I was a man on the down side of fifty, sliding towards sixty when we met! I was raised by Free People to be Free. Most African-Americans are not "free", in spite of their bluster to each other (and the European social-scientists knows this)! In said letter I also chided him that he had no right, without my knowledge, to send Ali Laraki as his political emissary to the ex-Amir in the U.S. when I had paid for Ali Laraki to come here as a teacher! I now quote directly from my letter's conclusion: "One more thing, my Shaykh. I have received unsolicited reports of dissatisfaction on the part of some Americans who have traveled great distances, at great expense, to join you at your Moussems; and then not be allowed to receive an audience with you. I respectfully request that when any American Murabits make one of these journeys, that you give them a valued meeting, even though it be as short as five minutes. Inshaa'Allah. We all appreciate your work. I want them to appreciate, and without discrimination, accept the man behind the work, as I do; as we expand the Murabitun on the shores of North America. Inshaa'Allah." (I am pleased to say that he appeared to heed the contents of my letter and I thought more of him for that.) ADDED NOTE: Yet, evidently due to my none-servility, I became persona non -grata to Shaykh Abdalqadir and I was kept in the dark as to his movements and his contact information; information which was routinely provided to all National Amirs. I expected better from such a highly intelligent man, whom I admire to this day for his intellectual abilities, which are not necessarily a criterion for righteousness! The world is full of highly intelligent people who are no more than devils!
Most Indigenous American Muslim Leaders have been/are hard at work to raise a people whom `Umar Vadillo knows nothing about. A people who come from a society without morals and an in-place, deeply rooted self-hate mechanism, which stays on "auto-pilot". A people who bring these same trappings with them into Islam! A people who foolishly wear the debasing title "nigger" as though it were a jeweled crown to be valued. A people who stupidly call themselves "dog". A dog is an animal which has absolutely no morals and no "value system". Not only do these foolish people degrade themselves, but they degrade their mothers, whom Islam calls upon us to give utmost respect. After all, a dog is born of a "bitch". And his ignorant woman often calls him a "son-of-a-bitch". A dog!
The psychological scars upon the African-American psyche, which makes him dependent, run very deep. For example: Either Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods, by their names alone, could setup their own clothing companies, under their own brand names, and make billions and employ hundreds of thousands. But instead, they too are victims of their psychological scars, and are thus exploited into modeling and advertising clothing for Hanes, Niki, etc., when their hired merchandising agents could set up international retail networks and purchase the same goods from the same Chinese and Korean manufacturers! They could setup their own telephone companies, or whatever!!! They could, but they can't, until they start KNOWING themselves as FREE MEN, stop thinking of themselves as a famous and wealthy black ex-basketball player and a famous and wealthy golfer of color! Get my point?
Murabitn Ra`iys `Umar Vadillo can be the Supreme Commander over his countrymen, but not over us Americans. Incidentally, his homeland, Spain, has an overt hatred of African peoples. It can be seen in the debasing pictures of African peoples on candy wrappers (childhood hate indoctrination), or as large, three-dimensional, two foot high cast door-stop caricatures [For example: (An unattractive, wide-eyed, big lipped, coal black youth with a stupid grin showing pearly white teeth, wearing bright gaudy colored clothes, with a sideways similarly gaudy-colored baseball cap on a heavily kinked head, wearing beat-up sneakers and holding a basketball under his arm!) This is not to be confused with the "black jockey" often displayed on the lawns of European-Americans. This "black jockey" represents a factual statement in American culture! In the early days of structured, big industry horse racing in this country, the earliest and the premier jockeys were African-American men!] I have seen these racist symbols on prominent and public display during my visits to Spain. And make no mistake, they are directly related to the re-conquest of Spain from the Muslim Moors. I would suggest that Ra`iys `Umar and his Muslim countrymen "command" to have these racist symbols removed from their society as a lone act in the interest of the " Islamic brotherhood"!
Am I a racist? That question is not for me to answer because I do not see myself as you do and that question is directed to you! However: I am not pro-European and anti-African-European-Native-American. I am not pro-African and anti-African-European-Native-American. I am not pro-Asian and anti-African-European-Native-American. I am not pro-any group and anti-American. So, you decide.
ADDED NOTE: Yet, some of Shaykh Abdalqadir’s “pet few” in America, still refuse to see that the Murabitun is, and is intended to remain, a European organization, for Europeans, dominated by Europeans, with some usable “Asian” adherents, and African and African-Americans for window dressing upon the “international stage”. There were European-American “Murabits” who were keep abreast of what the Murabitun was involved in, but were allowed, against my protestation, not to be under my authority as the National Amir! Also, those European-Americans whom Shaykh Abdalqadir presumed to be of special merit were spirited away to Europe to live! Even a blind-man or woman, or child could “see” how the U.S. Murabits were perceived by Shaykh Abdalqadir and his ra`iys.
Some may choose to construe that I am labeling Shaykh Abdalqadir and Ra`iys `Umar as racist. While they do not appear as men of "racist" personalities, they are men of culturally conditioned behavioral attitudes toward Americans of color, which incorporate a "benign" racism. (I have had a tenured European-American Murabit tell me that he has witnessed racial discrimination in the Murabitun! But the enslaved "blacks", in their mental zeal to be true to the cause, can't see it!) Attitudes, which I am certain, would not have surfaced had the U.S. Murabitun been predominantly "white" Americans! Attitudes reside in and emerge from the "heart" and the heart is the wellspring of actions, and their actions toward me and this American Amirate, and our quest for success in our own homeland is negative to the point of racism, and employing and encouraging, tacitly or otherwise, their resident agents to continually sabotage our efforts toward self-determination is racism! I speak specifically of those five people out of Charleston, S.C., who consider themselves, collectively, MR. Murabitun! (They are all people of relatively "small stature" who seemingly carry "that" complex. Shaykh Abdalqadir chose well.) Allah, SubHana wa Ta`Alaa says in his book: "It is a mercy from Allah that you were gentle with them. If you had been rough or hard of heart, they would have scattered from around you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them, and consult them in important matters. Then when you have reached a firm decision, put your trust in Allah. Allah loves those who put their trust in Him." Therefore, for four (4) years I tolerated their deviant behavior, asking Allah to pardon them. I remained gentle toward them, consulted with them, accepted their suggestions and recommendations and put much organizational responsibility into their hands. Yet they, in their southern regions and everywhere they traveled, openly opposed every decision I made. What is more, many, if not all, southern Murabits knew/know what I am saying is true! More than a "reliable few" have reported their actions to me! Some even went so far as to reaffirm their bay`at and put their reports about the Charlestonian's disrespectful behavior towards me (and others) in writing! I have the their written documents in my possession! Some of these same people are sitting with them NOW! However, about two years ago it became clear to me why this opposition was persisting in spite of my lucid reports to Shaykh Abdalqadir and Ra`iys `Umar: They were evidently the ones, from behind the scenes, who were giving encouragement and the go-ahead to these baghees (rebels)!
Let me give death to another lie being spread: "That (Amir) MuHammad Shareef "got to" Amir Abdallah!" False to the core. Although from the beginning of my entrance into the Murabitun World Movement I had received, directly and indirectly, advice and warnings not to get involved with the Murabitun from many people. One brother, initially from California, whom I have known for approximately 20 years, who had spent six years studying in Saudi Arabia, pressed Newark's Imam Abdur-Rashid to encourage me not to tie in with the Murabitun. He even prepared a tape recording for me, which I have yet to listen to! Another brother, a European Islamic Leader from a northwestern state, with whom (I thought) I had developed a reasonably close relationship, in that for about two years in which we had communicated on a near weekly basis, upon learning of my acceptance of the Murabitun, ceased our communications! From the beginning until the end of my mission with the Murabitun, different people told me that MuHammad Shareef and I should consult but I had no interest in doing so at the time. However, the very first time I ever spoke with Amir MuHammad Shareef (or heard his voice) was on the evening of June 30th, 2001. This was over a month after I had made my decision to leave the Murabitun. In this talk I told him of my decision and I requested that he not disclose my matter until I had made an official announcement, which I had intended to make within two to three weeks. One outcome of our talk was my call for him to retract certain things he falsely attributed to me which arose out of misunderstanding Amir Najib's Presentation, made on my behalf, to Imam Jamil's 1999 Majlis Ash-Shura meeting in Atlanta. The question has since been asked if Amir MuHammad Shareef and I will work together in the future? To that, I say: "Inshaa'Allah. It is highly probable, especially in light of the fact that some years ago, right here in the U.S.V.I., I introduced a young man to Islam who is now his Amir over their ribat in Oakland, California!"
On the point of Murabitun Ra`iys, `Umar Vadillo, proposing that I give him the bay`at, it only lends support to collusion between he, Shaykh Abdalqadir and the Charlestonians to keep me in my place and stop me (us) from developing an independent base for ourselves in America. (The master must keep his slave dependent on him.) The "cat" was let out of the bag by Bilal Muhammad Harris as he and Hajj Daud Abdus-Salaam traveled back to their egress point in Portugal after the 1999 Moussem in Grenada, Spain. During this long drive, Bilal Harris had introduced the point that I must give the bay`at to `Umar Vadillo before he could give his bay`at to me; although he had given me his bay`at in December 1997! (Note: After he became the (puppet) Amir in Charleston in 1999, he gave the the bay`at to me a second time!) Having suspected collusion, on July 19th, 1999 I informed Ra`iys `Umar Vadillo of this matter so he would know I knew. I also (again) informed him of the continuing 5th Column opposition emanating from his servants in Charleston.
What some may find it hard to believe is that the Shaykh Abdalqadir and Ra`iys `Umar are not at all concerned with the internal progress of Americans. I believe it is fair to state that they had no desire for us to achieve anything independent of their approval. And those matters, which met with their approval, would only serve their own selfish interests. There was never any concerned inquiries of me as to what we American were doing to develop our situation…or, what were our goals and aspirations …...NEVER. (Early in our relationship when I volunteered an aspect of this information, it was severely frowned upon.) Certainly, they both knew that I was working very hard to develop a viable organization because I constantly fed them information of everything I/we were doing and trying to achieve, but they never showed an interest, only the contrary. At the above noted Grenada Moussem, at least twice Ra`iys `Umar promised me and Amir Najib Abdul-Haqq (Director for the proposed U.S. Islamic Mint) that he would give us his design for the Golden Dinar. (Never mind the fact that I had communicated with him about this matter much prior to our arrival!) We were together for the better part of a week and he still did not get around to it???!!! Seven months later, after taking the matter into my own hands to produce our coins, I was in Scotland at the very time our master molds were being made, Ra`iys `Umar Vadillo requested that I stop the process because he did not like my design!!! I placed a call to our East Orange jeweler from the Shaykh's Inverness chateau and stopped the entire engraving process, which was under way. Later, when I informed the people of this outcome, the Charleston people, who had not contributed anything but opposition, were overjoyed. I saw the joy in their faces. They do not realize that the coins are an Islamic matter and the concept belongs to Islam (as does their chosen 5 Point Program), not to the Murabitun. Inshaa'Allah, we shall still mint our own coins, as will other groups. Many non-Muslim American groups have been minting their gold and silver coins for decades! This is not something new! Also, the U.S. is THE place to kick the Dinar Program into gear. It is not likely to happen by running after corrupt Muslim (Arab, Asian &European) governments with their Presidents and Prime Ministers as the Murabitun Ra`iys has been doing! By ignoring us Americans he has blown a golden opportunity.
His "www.e-dinar" program is a near exact copy of the "www.e-gold" program initiated here in America by Dr. Douglas Jackson of Florida! He had his people from Europe coming in and out of the U.S. working with Dr. Jackson while purposely keeping me blind-sided; something I am sure he would not have done to the Murabitun National Amirs of the European countries! Had he been willing to included me in the development phase I could possibly had opened doors to spread this program, which he still doesn't see! But this would open a door, which the European has always denied to African-Americans: Access to Power. In a previous letter I said I would explain this phrase: Access means - The act, opportunity, or means of approach (For example: Your salaat and your du`a gives you the most direct access to Allah. Without this access, coupled to your good actions, your goal of obtaining His ultimate bounties cannot be realized!) Power means - The right, ability, or capacity to exercise control or domination.
In America, as throughout the world, the European has gained control through domination, which he will not share outside of his racial sphere. In his narrow thinking, sharing control means diluting and losing his domination. Therefore, whether we are speaking of either U.S.A. (Union of South Africa or United States of America) the wealth of the nation will never be shared with the people because the select dominating few will never grant Access to Power to anyone outside of their ranks, and certainly not to African-Americans. In other words, for example, the Fortune 500 Companies (including institutions of finance) will give employment opportunities to "anyone", but they will not allow "anyone" to become a Director on the Board. And if "anyone" gets on the Board he is just a "window dressing employee" who knows his place and who will never have Access to Power within the corporation! He knows this and is satisfied to simply be there. If you find a Fortune 500 corporation with an "anybody" in charge, it will be because it is his company and he made it on his own accord. Never-the-less, his money will be limited and he had better not try to sit at the "high-stakes" table or he will be blown away. His Access to Power will be extremely limited to his own sphere of influence, meaning among his own people.
Therefore, to have been intrinsically involved in Ra`iys `Umar's e-diner program from its inception would have given me an unacceptable Access to Power.
Now, we all know that the above scenario does not paint an Islamic picture, but it is the one that is on the wall for savvy people to see and to understand. Just as one artist "sees" the "movement of color" in another's painting, the processes of denial to Access to Power is as plain as the nose on your face, if you're trained to "see" it!
However, the idea of coins is just another cart being put before another horse. And the e-dinar project is a program unavoidably riddled with riba trappings and enrichment of the banks! During national economic downturns, "speculation" is very real. Additionally, not only does one not have possession of his dinars/gold, it is not safe from state confiscation. Read the (warning) material on the web-site. And having your precious metals stored in Malaysia!!! In a tragic circumstance, access would be all but impossible, even if one could trust such a corrupt regime!
All movements must have a land base. The Dinar and the Dirham represented Islamic Sovereignty. Everyone wants to shortcut the process of sovereignty. For example: Since the `60's American Muslims have been groveling, yes, I said groveling, to go to Saudi Arabia to learn Arabic and for Islamic study. And what did they get: A deviant so-called Salafi dialectic of Islam vis-à-vis The Islam of MuHammad (SAWS) and his Companions (RAAH)! They received a harsh pseudo-Islam full of hate and dislike toward their fellow Muslims! NOW!!! Muslims are struggling to send their children to Syria!!! To become what? Ba`athists? (There is a Political Reality to every situation. This is true of individuals and countries!) Again, our children will come home to NOTHING, bringing another foreign ideology, which has no merit on the American scene except divisiveness. Your land-base becomes your city, your home. The country is not your "home", it is the greater house in which your "home" would reside. Therefore, these "sent-away-to-learn" children come back to a house but not a "home". They return to a "house" which encourages their "learning" to make most of them egotistical individualistic non-team players; dispersing and destroying themselves and many of the ignorant, whom they bring under their linguistic spell!
Far too many African-American Muslims think like the African-American Christians, who are organizationally superior. We struggle to have masaajid in nearby neighborhoods (where we own virtually nothing) just as the Christians strive to have a church in every neighborhood. But these attainments must not be our goals of satisfaction!!! Every day we learn of the immigrant Muslims, with their wealth, fighting with the kuffar who opposes his setting up masajid in the kuffar's neighborhoods! But this is his understanding of being American! Logically, we need land bases all around America. (Only then will the idea of Caravans & Guilds and realistic trade with dinars and dirhams make practical sense, through networks of established Trade Centers and Trade Routes!) We need Muslim cities (true Madinahs) all around the United States, which are run and controlled by Muslims but in which the kuffar would also be free to live. This is true da`wah which would spread beyond our borders. By Allah's permission, I am one who can show you how to do this! But beware, there are no shortcuts!
By design, there are thousands of cities all around this country, which have been established and are controlled by Christians or Jews. It is not an impossible task, but our people have to begin thinking about and planning for "tomorrow", and stop living for today. Virtually every year, newly Chartered and Constituted Cities emerge in America!!! Inshaa'Allah, in the next issue of Shahadah I plan to give an in-depth expose on this matter as it concerns us American Muslims. Inshaa'Allah, at our National Gathering in Newark (Nov 9th - 11th, 2001) this matter will be addressed in some detail.
This plan to establish U.S. Madinahs should have been/could have been/ a Murabitun Program. And as the International Murabitun Leadership did not want to help us toward this goal, it certainly should not have hindered us in any way. And this is my Primary Complaint against Shaykh Abdalqadir, Ra`iys `Umar Vadillo and their American agents who tried to stand in our way.
ADDED NOTE: In 1998, during a week-long Murabitun event in a European city, I had an in depth conversation with one of Shaykh Abdalqadir’s “inner circle” advisors. He advised me to submit a detailed written proposal to Shaykh Abdalqadir. This I did immediately upon returning to my U.S. home base. It was a proposal which included development of a true madinah, as well as expansive public promotion via various media outlets, moving forward with the U.S. “Islamic Mint” project, etc. It was a proposal, which would have (Allahu `Alim) greatly expanded Murabitun ribats around the U.S. and would have enormously raised the respect of the shaykh himself, in America, in the entire world. For over three years this proposal was in the hands of Shaykh Abdalqadir, his ra’iys and the brother who so advised me. It was totally ignored. Not one of them ever mentioned one word concerning it!
There are some among those trying to revive the corpse of the (Disbanded) U.S. Murabitun who are quality people with much to offer. However, they choose to be deluded. I pray that they will soon open their eyes to the reality of our situation and return to obedience to their legitimate Amir. They are being misled by the servants of Shaykh Abdalqadir and Ra`iys `Umar Vadillo, who have created a core body of parasitical, do-nothing but sing, dance and Murabitun-drum-beating Americans who have no initiative nor ambition to sacrifice for themselves and/or their posterity. It is absolutely amazing that these Americans cannot see that their European and Asian Murabitun counterparts are building mosques, establishing ribats, expanding their respective areas of operation, owning and controlling multi-unit villas, bakeries, print and publishing facilities, and other economic enterprises and establishing other needed economic and educational institutions for their own present and future welfare. (Do not think for one moment that Shaykh Abdalqadir and his appointed ra`iys do not support these efforts with every kind of assistance.) For over a year and a half the Murabitun has given Ali Laraki a sufficient monthly stipend to live and teach in Norwich, England and there are others being paid! Yet, for the year plus while Mr. Laraki was in the U.S. no one contributed a dime for any of his family's expenses, which were covered, al-Hamdu lil-laah, by the New Jersey and V.I. Amirates! Doesn't anyone believe we had deserved and earned the right to have the Murabitun send us an instructor, or two, or three? Yet, the Americans have been content & happy to remain as Merry Muslim Minstrels meandering from continent to continent as Sufi Tablighis, thus impoverishing themselves, for the sake of being nothing more than window dressing for Shaykh Abdalqadir's programs on foreign soil, and doing ab-so-lute-ly NOTHING for themselves and their families in the U.S. of A, who are being eaten alive by the Beast of Kufr. (I dare ANYONE to call me a liar.) Content to play the Fool.
Until our National Amirate embraced the present day Murabitun, they had not established one true free-standing ribat anywhere in the U.S. Not one!!! Yet, with great elocution, their core, didactically promote themselves by the ludicrous Continental Title: "Murabitun of North America." Simply Shameful! Singing and dancing cannot be the limit of their intelligence! Can it? The question arises: In what accomplishments and achievements do they take pride in, by Allah's permission? Where are the institutions they have built, which by Allah's grace, will outlive them and serve their posterity? Whose children are their future? Yet, even to these people, I am still their Amir…..whether they (or I) like or dislike.
Take Spain, for an example: Make no mistake about it: Today's Muslim sons and daughters of Spain are desirous of, and planning and working to return Spain to Muslim rule; but not as "Murabitun". May All Powerful Allah give them victory. Ameen. I say to Shaykh Abdalqadir and Ra`iys `Umar, we too, have realistic ambitions worth the striving. Our very survival depends upon them. Our future is not in Africa, Asia nor Europe. We are Americans and our future is here! This is true of most every other national group and will be so unless ALLAH determines otherwise! There are no kind words for anyone who opposes us on this.
Allah (SWTA) says: "You will not attain true goodness until you give of what you love. Whatever you give away, Allah knows it." Q3:91-92
After reading this complete issue of Shahadah it will be clear that I, those standing with me, and all Muslims sharing our thoughts, aspirations, designs and plans for sovereignty, establishment and uplifting of The Deen of Islam EVERYWHERE, are closer to the Original Murabitun than these 20th Century dancing charlatans. Therefore, by Allah's grace, we shall still be known as People of the Ribat.
From what has been said above, it is clear that I/we were not allowed into the inner fold of the Murabitun World Movement because: (1) I was recognized as one who would not be molded into a stooge for their sinister plan; and I have come to learn that it is a sinister movement, which is inimical toward true Islamic concepts. (2) I/we are not of the "right" race and complexion.
I ask forgiveness from The Most Merciful for my ignorance and for my leading others into such deviance and I ask their pardon and the pardon of all who know me. I call on them to ask forgiveness as well; for themselves and for me. May All-Powerful Allah have mercy on the Ummah of MuHammad (SAWS), remove all deviance and increase it in goodness. Ameen. I thank & praise Him (al-Hamd lil-laah) for bringing me into the light of understanding relative to this matter and others. Ameen. Ameen. Ameen.
Those “personal” remarks against me, accredited to Shaykh Abdalqadir by some of his “European inner circle personnel” are not worthy of being mentioned. However, there are many in the U.S. who refute his claim of “Shaykh”. This I will not do regardless of their “proofs, because as long as some people accept him as their shaykh, I will refer to him as such.
Islam is Tasawwuf and Tasawwuf is Islam. (Having been under the influence of both since the mid 60’s, of this I have no doubt!) Certainly the “Shaykhs of Instruction” have their place in the scheme-of-things, however, I close this document with the following message to all Shaykhs and their followers:
Allahu subHana wa Ta`la says in His book: “They (the Jews and the Christians) take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and [they (the Christians take as their Lord)] Christ the son of Mary; yet, they were commanded to worship One God (Allah): there is no god but He (Allah). Praise and glory to Him; (far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him).” The Noble Qur’aan: 9:31
Hadith: “Once while Allah’s Messenger (SAAWS) was reciting this verse, `Adi bin Hatim said: “O Messenger of Allah! They do not worship them (i.e. the rabbis and monks).” Allah’s Messenger (SAAWS) said: “They certainly do. [They (meaning their rabbis and monks) made lawful things unlawful and made unlawful things lawful, and they (meaning the Jews and the Christians) followed them: and by doing so, the really worshipped them]. Narrated by Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and ibn Jarir.
Therefore, I take this occasion to remind my Sufic Brothers AND their respective Shaykhs not to fall prey to the ShayTaanic influences which the human soul is prone to follow, which places many of them (i.e., my sufic brothers and their shaykhs) in derogation to Allah’s command and the guidance of our Beloved (SAAWS), which I have quoted directly above. And know that Amirate precedes Tariqah. Amirate IS “Nation Building”. Let’s get busy with it.
I implore All Mighty Allah to forgive all serious Muslims who seek His forgiveness & admit us into His gardens.
